Framingham Co-operative Bank provides several tools to help customers manage their accounts and avoid fees:

Overdraft Privilege
Overdraft Privilege provides a safety net in the event there are not enough funds in your checking account at the time of a withdrawal. Rather than automatically returning unpaid all insufficient funds items, we will consider, without obligation on our part, payment of your reasonable overdrafts created by checks, ACH, or in-person (teller) withdrawals up to your assigned Overdraft Privilege limit. With some exceptions, most of our checking account types are eligible for this service.

You do not have to apply for this service, and you do not need to sign any additional documents. There is no fee to add Overdraft Privilege to an account, and no fee if you never use it. If we authorize a transaction that causes your account to fall into a negative balance you will incur our normal overdraft fee of up to $25.

Recently, the Federal Reserve issued a regulation requiring banks to give customers the choice of Opting In to allow overdrafts to be paid on ATM or debit card transactions.

If you want to extend Overdraft Privilege to your debit card, you must Opt In by completing our opt in form and mailing it back to us, or dropping it off at either banking office.

If you opt in, your debit card will work as it currently does. If we authorize a reasonable debit card transaction (including ATM transactions) that causes your account to fall into a negative balance you will incur our normal overdraft fee of up to $25.

Overdraft Transfer
Customers with a Framingham Co-operative Bank statement savings account, can arrange to have funds transferred automatically to their checking account if there are not enough funds in the checking account at the time of a purchase.

There is no fee to keep overdraft transfer on your account and no fee if you never use it. If a transfer is completed, you will be charged $2, which covers all overdraft transfers that occur in a single day. Click here to download our Automatic Transfer Authorization Form.

Text Messages
With Free Text Message Banking, you can check your available balance anytime, anywhere, from your mobile device. You can also arrange to have a text message of your current balance sent to you every Friday. Find out more.

E-Mail Alerts
Through Free Online Banking, you can sign up to receive automatic e-mail alerts when your account dips below a certain balance. Find out more.
